Rightly dividing the Word of truth
This is part 34 in a series of 53 articles about RIGHTLY DIVIDING GOD’S WORD OF TRUTH. All scripture quoted will be from the King James Bible.
In part 34, we pick up where our discussion left off in part 33 about the gospel of the grace of God. In the last paragraph of part 33, we see that all will die because of sin, and then the judgment.
For anyone reading these articles, I have a question for you. Where will you go when you die? What are you putting your trust in for your salvation? Are you putting your trust in any of the following: You try to keep the Commandments, you go to church every Sunday, you give a tenth of you income to your church, you help the poor, you feed the poor, you do works for others and your church, you were water baptized, you received the rite of confirmation, you keep all church Holyday’s, you confess your sins to God, and tell Him how sorry you are for those sins, you’re a member of one of the following Churches: Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Episcopalian, Evangelical, or any other physical church on the face of the earth you can name, you believe in God, you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you take communion, or maybe you believe John 3:16 will save you.
What if I told you NONE of the above will save you or get you into God’s heaven? Would that shock you? Well, it’s true! None of the above will save you! You may say, why not? Except for John 3:16, all the other things I mention above are considered works by God, and today under the heavenly program works will not save you. Today, it’s all about God’s grace. Let’s look at some scriptures about works and grace:
Galatians 2:16: 16Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified
Titus 3:5-7: 5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Romans 4:4-5: 4Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Why do I say John 3:16 cannot save anyone in our present age? Because it is missing some key elements of the gospel for us today. Paul calls the preaching of the cross the power of God unto salvation, 1 Corinthians1:18-21. Without the cross the gospel is vain, and even a trained bloodhound could not find the cross in John 3:16. It’s also under the earthly program for the nation of Israel.
As I stated in the beginning of these articles, you need to Know how to RIGHTLY DIVIDE GOD’S WORD OF TRUTH to find the true, correct salvation message for our present day and age. Sad to say, many, many people today believe some of the statements I made above in the fourth paragraph will somehow save them. Remember, today we are under God’s new heavenly program. ——– To be continued
