Rightly dividing the Word of truth

This is part 7 in a series of 53 articles about RIGHTLY DIVIDING GOD’S WORD OF TRUTH. All scripture quoted will be from the King James Bible.

In part 7, we will find out where God’s place of residence is at right now. Psalm 11:4: 4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD’S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. Matthew 5:34: 34 But I say unto you, swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:  I believe we all agree that God’s throne right now is in heaven.

Now back to Revelation 21:1-3 1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

The tabernacle of God in Revelation 21:3 above is where God’s throne is; it’s in heaven, and it is literally coming from God, out of heaven, down to the new earth after the millennium is over, and God will dwell with men forever. Ezekiel 43:7: And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcass of their kings in their high places. Revelation 22:1;3 also refers to God’s throne being in the holy city, the new Jerusalem: 1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; (The New Jerusalem) and his servants shall serve him:

Now, let’s see how enormous the new Jerusalem will be, and then we will tie it in with the “many mansions” of John 14:2. These mansions are being prepared in heaven, but they are coming down out of heaven to the new earth.

Revelation 21:16: 16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

The New Jerusalem created by God will be a perfect cube, with its length, width and height being 12,000 furlongs, Revelation 21:16. Since a Biblical furlong is about 1/8th of a mile long, the city’s dimensions will be 1,500 miles by 1,500 miles by 1,500 miles. 1,500 miles converted to kilometers would be (2,414 x 2,414 x 2,414 kilometers). This means the city’s total area will be 3.375 BILLION cubic miles (14.067 billion cubic kilometers). Comparing this to the total area on the earth’s surface (land and sea) of roughly 197 million square miles, or 510 million square kilometers, means the city’s total area will be far bigger than the total surface area of the planet!
