Rightly dividing the Word of truth

This is part 36 in a series of 53 articles about RIGHTLY DIVIDING GOD’S WORD OF TRUTH. All scripture quoted will be from the King James Bible.

Part 36 will continue with the gospel of grace, the gospel of our salvation.

In part 35 in the last sentence I wrote:  If you try to add works which you have done, to the blood of Christ, then you make the sacrifice of Christ void, and you remain in your sins, in unbelief. Why do we remain in unbelief?  II Corinthians 5:18-20: 18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Just because Christ shed His blood for the whole world at Calvary, does not mean that reconciliation is automatically applied to everyone as some would teach. Oh no, that is why true believers are given the ministry of reconciliation. Christ has given us the the word of reconciliation to teach others in unbelief, that they need to BE RECONCILED TO GOD.  If everyone were already reconciled to God, then there would be no need for God to give believers the ministry of reconciliation. We teach others in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

In Ephesians 1:13-14 God say’s: 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest (or guarantee) of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

God plainly say’s in verse 13 above, after you believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Believe, believe, believe, that is what it takes to be RECONCILED TO GOD.

God also say’s to the Gentiles today in Ephesians 2:13: 13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. It’s all about believing in the shed blood for the forgiveness of your sins, and then you are reconciled to God by faith, with no works on your part.

WarningIn II Thessalonian 1:8-12, Paul through inspiration of God say’s: 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. 11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: 12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
