Answers to Bible Questions

(Q) Why are Israel and the Palestinian people always fighting over land? Was there ever such a place called Palestine? Who really owns the “Gaza Strip” and “West Bank” in the land of Israel today?
(A) The answer to these questions can only be found in the pages of the Bible. First we need to understand where “Palestine” was and when it came into existence.
The name “Palestine” was the name the conquering Romans gave the ancient Land of Israel so as to obliterate the JEWISH presence in the Holy Land! Despite being conquered and controlled by the Romans, Greeks, Turks and numerous others, only TWO nations have ever existed there over the last 3,000 years… ancient “Israel” and again “Israel,” re-established in 1948! To the Arab people as a whole no such entity as “Palestine” ever existed prior to the early 20th century and there was certainly never an ancient Palestinian Arab nation!
So today the land that was called “Palestine”, was the area of the eastern Mediterranean region, comprising parts of modern Israel and the Palestinian territories of the Gaza Strip (along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea) and the West Bank (the area west of the Jordan River).
The truth is that Palestine is no more real than Never-Never Land. …Palestine has never existed …as an independent entity. It was ruled alternately by Rome, by Islamic and Christian crusaders, by the Ottoman Empire and, briefly, by the British after World War I. The British agreed to restore at least part of the land to the Jewish people as their homeland.
There never has been a state called Palestine, nor have the Palestinian Arabs ever been an independent people, and Jerusalem never has been an Arab or Muslim capital. Jerusalem has had an absolute Jewish majority for more than a century (and a plurality before that), and for the last three thousand years, only the Jewish people have called it their capital…To inveigh against ‘Judaizing’ Jerusalem is like protesting the Arabization of Cairo.”
The term “Palestine” is believed to be derived from the Philistines, an Aegean people who, in the 12th Century BC, settled along the Mediterranean coastal plain of what is now Israel and the Gaza Strip. In the second century AD, after crushing the last Jewish revolt, the Romans first applied the name Palaestina to Judea (the southern portion of what is now called the West Bank) in an attempt to minimize Jewish identification with the land of Israel. The Arabic word Filastin is derived from Latin. There is no language known as Palestinian. There is no distinct Palestinian culture. There has never been a land known as Palestine governed by Palestinians. Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians (another recent invention), Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, etc.
After being dispersed for centuries the Jews began migrating back to their home land which was once called Palestine ( now Israel ) and things began to heat up again.
Rebirth of Israel
In 1947 news came that the combined armies of five Arab nations invaded Israel with the stated purpose of annihilating every Jew. Azzam Pasha, Secretary-General of the Arab League said, “It will be a war of annihilation. It will be a momentous massacre in history that will be talked about like the massacres of the Mongols or the Crusades.” [“Interview with Abd al-Rahman Azzam Pasha”, Akhbar al-Yom (Egypt), (October 11, 1947); translated by R. Green] The combined military power of Egypt, Transjordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria was defeated by a relatively small group of rag-tag Jews who, in addition to having very limited supplies of small weapons and not even one tank, had just come from the death camps of Nazi Europe. That they prevailed can solely be attributed to God’s hand in the affairs of men and states.
At 4:00PM on May 14, 1948 the modern State of Israel was born, and that obviously makes May 14, 2013 her 65th birthday. Bible students who for centuries believed that the ancient Hebrew prophets wrote of a literal rebirth of Israel during the last days were finally vindicated. A number of Christians of that day were both astonished and quickened in their spirits as the news gradually filtered down to main-street America and to small churches along the dusty roads of rural communities. No amount of condescending secular/political explanations from prophecy-rejecting, high-brow scholars could temper the excitement in the hearts of those who knew the scriptures and simply believed them.
In the Six-Day War, Israel captured Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem. But they didn’t capture these territories from Yasser Arafat. They captured them from Jordan’s King Hussein. I can’t help but wonder why all these Palestinians suddenly discovered their national identity after Israel won that war.
Israel granted full citizenship to all of the Palestinian Arabs who fell within its borders after the War of Independence. Arabic is an official language in Israel. Israel remains to this day one of the few countries in the Middle East where Arabs can legitimately vote–and it is the only one where women can vote.
Why are Israel’s enemy’s always trying to wipe them off the face of the earth? Why did the Muslim world called the rebirth of Israel a catastrophe? To understand why there is so much animosity against Israel, this one vital fact needs to be clearly understood. The fact is this: The Muslim world is being used as a powerful tool by Satan in his go-for-broke effort to annihilate the Jewish State and the Jewish people. That is the crux of the entire conflict that keeps the Middle East, and the entire world, on the precipice of a heated war. This one fact cannot be overstated. If the Jews can be obliterated then God has been lying for millennia, and if He is a liar then He has no moral authority to judge Satan. Thus the destruction of the Jews is obviously advantageous to him — because he escapes hell and gets the world; that is the way he sees it, believe it or not.
Will there ever be peace in the Middle East? There is only one way for that to happen. The following scripture has the answer. God say’s in Genesis 12:3:
“And I will bless them that bless thee, (Israel) and curse him that curseth thee, (Israel) and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
In order to bring real peace in the Middle East the first thing you need to do is follow God’s command as stated above in Genesis 12:3. No one will bring peace to the Middle East until they support Israel. If you are a true Christian you should read your Bible to see what God says about Israel. Israel as you should know are God’s chosen people, and they always will be even though they have made some awful mistakes. It does not matter what you think about Israel, God says you better support Israel or you will be cursed.
The coming Gog and Magog war:
Ezekiel 38 through 39 tells of a future invasion of Israel by a vast coalition of nations that surround it. As we read the headlines in the newspapers of today, and witness the conflict in the Middle East, it’s not hard to imagine that this invasion prophesied over 2600 years ago, could be fulfilled in our lifetime. Ezekiel 36-37 predicts a gathering of the Jews to the nation of Israel, which will be followed by this massive invasion. For 19 centuries the Jewish people were scattered throughout the world, and until May 14, 1948 there was no nation of Israel to invade. With the nation of Israel now a reality, the stage seems set for the war that will usher in the tribulation and the rise of the Antichrist; a war that will end with the destruction of Israel’s enemies by God Himself, and lead to the signing of a peace treaty with the Antichrist. LET’S CUT THROUGH ALL THE PROPAGANDA ABOUT ISRAEL ALWAYS BEING THE BIG BAD BULLY AND FIND OUT THE TRUTH ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE FROM GOD’S PROSPECTIVE!
WILL THE REAL OWNER OF GAZA PLEASE STEP FORWARD!
Many people throughout the world are confused about the area of Israel called the “Gaza Strip”. The Gaza Strip is a small area of Israel bordering the Mediterranean Sea. The Gaza Strip has on its west coast the area of Israel occupied by Egypt. On the south and east is Israel proper. The Gaza Strip is currently occupied, (for the most part), by a group of people known as the Palestinians, who had previously occupied other areas of Israel. There are of course many other areas of Israel occupied by Arabs, Palestinians, and other non-Jews. Currently, the terrorist group “Hamas” is in control of the occupied Gaza Strip. Hamas has shot off thousands of rockets into other areas of southern Israel in the last few years, with the stated aim of murdering as many Jews living in Israel as possible.
As for the war going on today with the Israelis and the terrorists Hamas who have taken over Gaza, Joshua narrows it down and tells us that Gaza also belongs to Israel, specifically the tribe of Judah. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families: Joshua 15:20 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof: Joshua 15:4
The anti-Semitic Hamas terrorist group has as one of its aims the destruction of Israel. Many anti-Semites in the world have therefore sided with Hamas in its goal of murdering Jews. In fact, few countries, other than the United States have offered support for Israel in its recent war against the Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip. Of course, not all people in the United States are in support of helping to defend Israeli citizens against being murdered by Hamas terrorist rockets. Many of those currently in the United States, (including some who actually call themselves Christians), are also anti-Semitic racists, who oppose Israel and support the Hamas terrorists.
Back in Genesis 16 we find more information about the fighting going on between the Palestinian people and Israel. Genesis 16:1-4: 1 Now Sarai Abram’s wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. 2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. 3 And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. 4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes. While the child was still in his mother’s womb, the Angel of the Lord told Hagar that the child shall be called Ishmael and he will be a WILD MAN (WILD ASS). His hand against everyman and everyman’s hand against him and will live against his kinsmen, Genesis chapter 16:11-12. Base on the prophecy of being a “WILD ASS – HIS HAND AGAINST EVEYONE AND EVERYONE HAND AGAIN HIM” other ancient historical data could give us more information on the tribal wars being fought by the Ishmaelite as they multiplied and prosper in the land which is not indicated in the holy bible but only indicate the tribal wars fought by Isaac descendants during the conquest of the Land of Canaan which they occupied today. Therefore as A WILD ASS, Ishmael descendants overpowered their enemies and settled in the land which is known today as Saudi Arabia whose warrior nature was manifested through Prophet Mohammed a descendant of Ishmael being the great Islamic Warrior and the King of Jihad, the WILD ASS OF ISHMAEL as predicted in Genesis in the days of old.
Israeli citizens do not always agree with each other
But even in Israel there are many people who do not support the idea of the Jews controlling all Israeli territory. They believe that the Palestinians should control Gaza, not Israel. Many state that Israeli government control of those in Gaza is wrong. Others say that the only way to have peace is to give up land that Israel controls in exchange for a “Neville Chamberlain” style piece of paper. This piece of paper would promise Israel that they will have “peace in our time” and be secure from further aggression from anti-Semitic Palestinian terrorists and their supporters. This is the idea of “land for peace”.
A promise of “Peace in our time” from Adolph Hitler
But people believe a lot of different things. Some believe this. Others believe that. For the Fundamentalist Christian, what men believe is not important. What politicians promise is not important. The real thing of importance to a Fundamentalist Christian is what God believes. And just what exactly does God say about the Gaza situation?
Surprising to some, God has some rather strong opinions about the Gaza Strip, and about every other area of Israel as well. God’s opinion of course is the only opinion that really counts. Therefore, we need to understand what God’s opinion is, so that we can obey God and not commit the wicked sin of rebellion by disobeying God.
Now, where do we go to find out what God’s opinion is concerning the Gaza Strip? Again we must go to the Bible. The Bible is the inerrant Word of God. It is perfect. The Bible is everlasting. It contains God’s perfect will. And what is it that God says in the Bible about the Gaza Strip? Well, God is very direct. God does not mince words. God says in the Bible that Israel owns Gaza — all of Gaza, in fact. God clearly states in His Word, the Bible, that:
“And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever,” Genesis 13:14-15.
It is only what God says in the Bible that counts
This means that God has already given ALL of the land of Israel to Abraham and to his rightful heirs, the Jews. The land does not belong to the Arabs, who came from Abraham’s son Ishmael. Many Arabs either do not understand this fact, or else they are not willing to admit that all of Israel belongs to the Jews. Even Abraham, (the father of both the Jews and the Arabs), asked God to make Ishmael his heir, but God refused to do so. God said that Abraham’s heir would be Isaac, the father of the Jews, not Ishmael, the father of the Arabs.
“And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year,” Genesis 17:18-21.
God has indeed blessed Ishmael, the father of the Arabs. The Arab world is very large, including many countries with vast oil deposits and other riches. But the Arabs do not own all of the Middle Eastern lands. To the east is Iran. To the west is Egypt. Other lands around them are owned by other peoples. But God has made it very clear. God said it, and that settles it. God said that Israel belongs to the Jews, to Abraham’s descendants through Isaac. This means that God has given to the Jewish people the land of Israel for a permanent inheritance, an inheritance that no one, (even the Government of Israel), is allowed to give away to another group, (including in exchange for promises of “peace”). But notice that God is very bold in His promise to Abraham concerning Abraham’s son Isaac. God said to Abraham concerning his son Isaac:
“…Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:” Genesis 15:18.
God has given Israel the land from the Nile to the Euphrates Rivers
This means that God also gave to the Jews the lands of Lebanon, Jordan, much of Iraq, and also much of eastern Egypt, up to the “river of Egypt”, which is the Nile river. Look at the attached map, It shows a small Israel, surrounded by many enemies, most of which have larger countries than Israel. But that is not God’s plan. God’s plan for Israel is to control the land from the Euphrates River in Iraq over to the Nile River in Egypt. As I stated before, the Fundamentalist Christian does not care what men say. It is what the Bible says that counts. And the Bible says that all of Israel, in fact a much larger area than her current borders, belongs to the Jews. So, this of course means that the entire Gaza Strip belongs to Israel.
Now, this is not a political issue. This is a religious issue. The issue here is, “what has God said?” Well, God has said plenty. God has said that Gaza belongs to Israel. God has said this in the Bible. These words of God are not open for interpretation. These words of God are not open for reevaluation. These words of God are not open for diplomacy or “horse trading”. What God said in the Bible is still valid. Gaza belongs to Israel.
Therefore, any Israeli who wants to give up land to others — land which God Himself has already said belongs to the Jews — is in open rebellion against God. Any squatter who is living on the land that God gave to the Jews is, at best, a guest, but not a real owner, and at worse is a trespasser. Gaza belongs to Israel. God said it. That settles it.
Gaza in Israel, is now separated from the rest of Israel
Now a thief is someone who takes something that belongs to another person. If you have a car, and someone takes it away from you, that is wrong. That is wicked. It is even more wicked for someone to take away from you something that God Himself said is only for you. That is sinning against God as well as your fellow man. God never intended for others to control any part of Israel. God intended, as He stated plainly, that the Jews are to have the land – all of it.
All Bible-believing Christians know that the Bible is true — every word of it. We know therefore that God has spoken and we are to obey. We are not to try and “look for loopholes” in order to disobey God’ clear commands. Any so-called Christian therefore who does not agree that Gaza belongs to Israel, is in direct and open rebellion against the authority of Almighty God because God said that Israel does own Gaza. Only what God says matters.
The Christian must always obey the Holy Bible
The time has come for many so-called Christians to turn around in their thinking and believe their Bibles. It is time for all Christians to obey God and support Israel. This is not an option for the Christian. Again God said in His Word:
“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed,” Genesis 12:3.
Those who bless Israel will be blessed. Others think that they can curse Israel, by trying to force Israel to give up land for peace. This is wicked. This is against the Bible. God still promises a curse to people who seek to try to get Israel to sin against God by giving up her land to non-Jews. Claiming to be a Christian will not protect such a one against God’s curse and judgment. God said it. And that settles it.
Gaza belongs to Israel. Those who fight God will always ultimately lose. Fighting God is not wise and is not healthily. Bless Israel. Protect Israel’s right to the lands which God gave to her. Get God’s blessing instead of God’s curse and judgment.
What of the Palestinians?
The Bible instructs the people of Israel how they should treat foreigners (non-Jews). Old Testament Israel was commanded to love foreigners and to let them live normal lives amongst them Deuteronomy 10:19:
“When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall do him no wrong … (he) … shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself …” Leviticus 19:33-34.
This instruction is timeless and applies to future Israel. Once Israel has returned to her land, the land is divided up amongst the tribes of Israel and the stranger amongst them is also ‘allotted an inheritance’:
“And they (strangers) shall be to you as the native-born among the sons of Israel; they shall be allotted an inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel,” Ezekiel 47:22.
And of course God’s timeless instruction applies now. It applies to Palestinians today. During an interview in 1989, Arial Sharon was asked: “Do you think of Arabs as your friends, your neighbors, or your enemies?” He replied:
“From my childhood, I have believed Jews and Arabs can live together, and I believe now they should live together. All the rights to this country, to the land of Israel – especially Judea and Samaria – are Jewish … but everyone who lives in the country should have all the rights of the country”. [Ariel Sharon, TIME, April 1989]
Unfortunately, as long as Arab countries refuse to recognize Israel and continue to attack her, such cohabitation would seem to be impossible.
In conclusion, it is Satan the devil who hates Israel, and also has stirred up the nations of the world to hate Her. As Christians, we should not fall into the same trap as the rest of the world. Again I cannot stress it enough that God will not bless anyone who refuses to bless Israel. Back up and support Israel and don’t be a part of the deception going on in the world against Israel. God is for Israel; no nation on the face of this earth will win the battle against Her.
God is going to defeat ALL of Israel’s enemies like it or not! In the end, Israel wins because God is their fortress.
Have a good day,

Scripture has at least 170 references to the land that God gave to the offspring of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God promised the land of Canaan to the Jews as an unconditional covenant – 55 times the Bible records that God confirmed the gift with an oath. Twelve of those times He stated that the covenant was everlasting.
