(Q)  Why would a loving God make hell eternal, never ending?

(A)  1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. The Bible plainly says that God is love, so why would this loving God send someone to hell forever?

The simple answer to this question is SIN. Our loving God hates sin as it says in Exodus 32.

Exodus 32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Romans 1:18: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

We see from scripture that our loving God, is also a God of wrath. But God is a loving God and has no pleasure that the sinner should die and end up in hell

Ezekiel 18:23: Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? …

However, the sinner should not assume that the God of the Bible is nothing but love, for the unbeliever at death will have quite a shock when he or she faces an angry God in judgment!

2 Peter 3:9: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

So,what is sin? 1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law; for sin is the transgression of the law. What law? The law given to the nation of Israel in Exodus 20; The ten commandments.

Where did sin originate from? Romans 5:12: Wherefore, as by one man (ADAM) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. 1 Corinthians 15:22:  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

So, what do the scriptures say about sin? Romans 3:23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. 2 Peter 2:4:  For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment. Romans 10-12: As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

However, God is not willing that any should perish, Ezekiel 33:11: As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel

What then is God’s answer for sin?

Without shedding of blood is no remission. The God of the Bible tells us that someone needs to shed blood for the remission of SIN. God cannot tolerate SIN. He hates sin and no one will be in heaven with their sins still unpaid for at the time of their death.

God says in Hebrews 9:22:  And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

In Christ shall all be made alive. Acts 4:10-12::Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.  Note: According to the scriptures in Act 4, JesusChrist is the only name under heaven whereby we must or can be saved.

Contrary to popular belief, God does not send people to hell; they choose to go there. Jesus Christ died for man’s sins, His innocent blood was shed, He was buried, and He was raised again the third day. That is the Gospel of Grace of 1 Corinthians 15:3-4. Faith in this Gospel of the Grace of God is man’s only way to escape the righteous wrath of God. God has done everything to keep man from going to hell, but if man refuses to accept God’s solution for sin by faith, God will let man reap the eternal penalty of sin. That penalty is to eternally exist in a place where God’s wrath is meted out and His justice against sin is the punishment of unredeemed sinners. His wrath is never appeased so hellfire must last forever.

Acts 10:43: To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name (Jesus Christ) whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins

Anyone can receive forgiveness of their sin through Jesus Christ, but if you deliberately refuse to believe in Jesus Christ by faith for forgiveness of your sins, then God has no choice but allow you to go where you desire to go. That place is called “hell,” and the ultimate destiny is “the lake of fire.”

Romans 3:25
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood (Jesus Christ) to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.

The Apostle Paul made this statement in 1 Timothy 1:15
:  This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Ephesians 1:13-14: In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest (guarantee) of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

As I said before,God has done everything to keep man from going to hell, but if man refuses to accept God’s solution for sin by faith, God will let man reap the eternal penalty of sin.. His wrath is never appeased so hellfire must last forever.

Why then is God’s wrath never appeased?

Romans 6:10:  For in that he (CHRIST) died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.Note: Christ died “once”.

Again in 1 Peter 3:18
:  For Christ also hath “once” suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit. NOTE: Again, Christ hath “once” suffered for sin.

Christ died died and suffered ONCE!! This is why God’s wrath is never appeased.

Anyone who has died in their sins will end up in hell, and it takes the sheding of blood by someone who was sinless and qualified to pay for those sins. That someone was Christ Jesus and according to scripture, He only died and suffered ONCE. He will never do it again!!  The whole thing boils down to this. If you did not put your faith, trust, and belief in Christ Jesus while you were still alive in the flesh, then it’s too late to be saved because Christ Is the only one who could pay for your sins, but you refused to believe in His shed blood for the remission of sins, and remember Christ said He would only shed His blood one time. So, if you end up in hell, Christ will never die again for the sins of those who end up in hell. This is why God’s wrath will never be appeased.

No more sheding of blood by the only person qualified to pay for sin. If you refused it in this life, there is no more payment for those sins. Hell fire will never pay for sin, only Christ’s shed blood could do that. This means hell last eternally for ever and ever.

This is no joke, I pray that anyone reading this article will put their trust, faith, and belief in Jesus Christ NOW for the remission of your sins. If you die as an unbeliever you will end up in hell, and it will be to late to change your mind. It’s up to you; heaven or hell. Both are eternal. Hell is eternal torment; Heaven is eternal bliss.

Make the right choice; have a good day.

John
